Yesterday afternoon the kids were in the yard and heard a strange bawling sound. They followed the sound and found this little fawn.
Normally fawns will lay completely still and let others pass by, however this one was up trying to walk around. I can't imagine she was much more than a day old. She let me get quite close for a picture!
Then this morning when I walked around the back of the cabin to fill the bird feeder I almost stepped on her!
This time she was curled up and hoping I wouldn't notice her.
What a fun surprise!
